Student Life

Student Life at Thomas Hart Academy

It is the mission of Thomas Hart Academy to help each student become an independent and lifelong learner with the self-confidence to take intellectual risks involving exploration along the educational journey.

Our students participate in a number of student activities, academic programs, non-athletic competitions and athletic programs. THA classrooms aren't your traditional classrooms. Our students learn with hands-on learning actitivites, they learn in environments that help enhance their learning experience, and are encouraged to think outside the box.

Travel Opportunities

Our school also provides opportunities for the students to travel abroad. These trips are led by a high quality tour company. We feel these travel opportunities are important because it shows our children the world is much bigger and more diverse than the community they live in. There are also many instances where students participate in overnight educational trips to Washington, D.C., the Barrier Islands and more.

Academics

Our program offers students the opportunity to learn, create, experience, and gain confidence while being challenged by a strong academic program and participating in a number of co-curricular offerings. We look at our students as individuals with differing talents, interests, and personalities, and as such, we understand the necessity of using a variety of approaches and strategies.

Learn More

Thomas Hart Academy is more of a family than a school and because of this we can emphasize not only a superior academic program, but we can focus on the character of the child as well. While we teach core academics, such as language arts, math, and science we educate our children on the importance of being kind, empathetic individuals.

We recognize many different learning styles. Our students are unique individuals and not numbers on a test. Thomas Hart cultivates imagination and we encourage the children to think outside the box. We embrace and celebrate the child that doesn’t typically fit inside a mold.
